October 4-9 This weeks topic: Calendars - This week we will be working on our calendar system for the holiday's. These will be some of the easier challenges we have done but very very important to have completed. If we do not plan out our calendars right it will throw everything into a loop. October 4 - Catch up day - work on an area of your notebook you do not have complete - if all areas are complete then review your notebook just to keep things fresh. October 5 - Find you a calendar to put in your notebook - most printing software have a calendar that it will print out - I personally use Calendar Creator because I can have event lists that I only have to set up one time with everybody's birthday's and it tell me how old they are every year (I give these as gifts too!). If you do not have a way to print out a calendar find one to put into your notebook - any type will do just as long as you have one! I recommend during October, November, December and January. Also if you want find some colored pencils and assign different colors to different people (Family=blue, daughter=pink, etc.) so you can look at a glance and see what is what - remember to make you a key for it though. October 6 - Write in any and all dates that you know are going to happen during these months (birthday's, Thanksgiving travel, Christmas Travel, days kids will be out of school - basically everything already set in stone) October 7 - Write in your deadlines for your projects and activities (Finish Christmas Cards, Mail Christmas Cards, Mail packages, make travel plans, etc.) October 8 - Call and find out dates of things you want to do. Do you usually go to the local church's singing Christmas Tree? Call that church and find out - do you children do breakfast with Santa? Call and get the date. Most organizations should already have these events planned and dated - hey and while you are at it if it is something you do every year ask them if they already have dates for next year! Couldn't hurt to ask! Also do not forget about any toy drives charity drives you will be doing - call and ask when the turn in date is for them October 9 - See what dates are still available and plan any get together you want to have. Surprise your friends with a call about a cookie exchange or get together now - the earlier you ask the better chance you will have a great party! Even if it is just a get together with your college girlfriends or your neighbors - just ask them to mark you down now and then send out invitations or call them later to remind them (do not forget to add the reminder to your calendar!) |
